Just to the west is the amazing Ojito Wilderness that is a gorgeous desert landscape of steep-sided mesas, rocky terraces, retreating escarpments, box canyons, deep meandering arroyos, and austere badlands. Be sure to see the unusual hoodoos that accent the landscape, the defined mountain biking trails and it is a wonderful place to hike and get away from it all for the day.

Just down the hill is the Village of Corrales where you have a fun day doing a winery tour. While seeing the sites of Corrales, you can sample wines from: Milagro Vineyards – wines are handmade in and Old World style. Acequia Vineyards & Winery – public and private tastings. The Rio Rancho area is known for a being a destination with wonderful conditions for year round ballooning. Enjoy an amazingly peaceful experience floating over the beautiful desert landscape.
